Scholarship End of Year Report for 2015 is now posted under the minutes archive.

Want to keep up with the weather here in Sheep Creek and other locations?  Try downloading “Storm by Weather Underground”. It is available for iPad and iPhones. I believe there is an app comparable for Android phones. This weather app has many layers you can see such as temp & wind speed, snow cover, radar, forecast, lightning, watches and warning and so much more. You can add weather stations as an overlay so you can easily click on Sheep Creeks Weather station and see what’s going on real time. You can also add several locations so you can always be up to date here, where your permanent residence is or other locations. Keep in mind when we have inclement weather, our Internet tends to have issues so be patient and check back periodically if the camera or weather station is down.

Message from our President Clint Crowe:

Century Link has received a $500 million grant from the FCC to improve internet speed to their customers IN RURAL AREAS.

If you want to impact the decision to include your service area in this upgrade, please fill out the form on this link and hit “send”. It will be processed at Century Link corporate and will join other neighbors on a list of subscribers that want better internet service.
After 90 minutes on the phone, the service supervisor finally shared this form with me and suggested wording to use:

You may copy this wording or use your own, of course:
“We would like to speed up the escalation process to fix our bandwith exhaust issue. We live in a rural area with slow internet service from Century Link.  Please consider improving our infrastructure and our internet speed.”
We hope this will get results.  Thank you for joining this effort.  Please pass this information along to others you know living here in the Conejos Canyon, Fox Creek, Horca, and Mogote areas.  The more email forms Century Link receives from us, the better chance of getting improvements.
From the Webmaster:  On another note, for those of you who enjoy seeing the camera and keeping updated with the weather here in Sheep Creek, it would benefit you to also complete this form.  If you’ve kept up lately with the weather station you will notice either the internet is down, or the upload speed is so slow that the picture does not come up properly.  This is very frustrating and I’ve called Century Link numerous times.  They sent me a new modem, they’ve had me do numerous ‘fixes’ but still not to the satisfaction we need to keep this up.  Please take 5-7 minutes to complete this form regardless if you are here full time, only visit you lot annually, or stay here seasonally.  This effects us all.  Thank you!
